At MakeMore Arts, we work to enrich experiences at a grassroots, day to day level, delivering training and partnership-focused projects for biggest impact.

Rosie Barrett

Rosie has 20 years of experience in the education sector. With an outstanding knowledge of how people learn and engage at a deep level, she is committed to supporting people from all backgrounds to access arts and culture. She loves creating and telling heritage-based stories and shares her experience at conferences and through bespoke training sessions. Her specialisms include difficult heritage, digital learning, and literacy development.
Karen Thompson

Karen is an exhibiting ceramic artist/fine artist and illustrator with experience of working on museum and public commissions. She creates political and socially conscious artworks and has exhibited with the Siobhan Davis Studios, Crafts Council, Holburne Museum of Art, Berwick Visual Arts and with the National Trust amongst others. Karen also has extensive experience of leading workshops within the community and schools.
PROJECTS
Creatures of Curiosity, Nunnington Hall
This fabulous community story creation project brought together 6 schools and hundreds of participants. Exploring the fantastical creatures of the region, through folklore and fossils, the project saw the creation of brand new artwork from children’s author Tim Hopgood, as well as dazzling supersized snake coiling along the corridor of Nunnington Hall, National Trust. Artwork was exhibited from over a hundred children as part of an exciting story creation exhibition enjoyed by over 20,000 visitors over the summer of 2022
